Looking for a quick and creamy dinner that feels gourmet but is easy to whip up? Shrimp Alfredo Pasta is the answer! Not only is this dish a quick and easy favorite, but it’s also made with simple ingredients you can find at Walmart and at my Walmart storefront. Whether you’re in the mood for homemade Alfredo sauce or prefer the convenience of jarred sauce or Alfredo seasoning packets (my personal go-to), this recipe has you covered. Let’s get cooking!
Tools You’ll Need:
- Large pot
- Skillet or sauté pan
- Strainer
- Wooden spoon or spatula
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Whisk (optional, for homemade sauce)
Ingredients:
- 12 oz fettuccine or your favorite pasta
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cups bone broth (for boiling pasta and cooking shrimp)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or unsalted butter
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream (if making homemade sauce)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (if making homemade sauce)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Jarred Alfredo sauce or Alfredo sauce seasoning packets
Directions:
- Boil the Pasta in Bone Broth: Bring a large pot of bone broth to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Using bone broth not only adds flavor but also boosts the nutritional profile of your meal. It’s rich in collagen and essential nutrients that support joint health and digestion—a staple in my healing journey.
- Prepare the Shrimp: While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Toss in the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Make the Alfredo Sauce (Optional): If you’re making the sauce from scratch, reduce the heat to low. In the same skillet, add heavy cream and whisk in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper. For a quicker option, warm up jarred Alfredo sauce or prepare Alfredo seasoning packets according to the instructions.
- Combine Everything: Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of the bone broth. Add the pasta, shrimp, and sauce back into the skillet. Toss to coat, adding reserved broth if needed for a silkier consistency.
Sides and Pairings:
No meal is complete without some delicious sides and beverages! Here are my favorite pairings:
- Appetizers: Garlic breadsticks, Caesar salad, or chips and hummus
- Beverages: Pair with a crisp white wine, or lemonade or sweet tea, or water
- Sides: Steamed broccoli, steamed mixed greens, or a light garden salad
Why Bone Broth Matters:
I love using bone broth in my recipes because it’s a nutrient powerhouse! It adds a rich depth of flavor while packing collagen, minerals, and amino acids that nourish your body. For me, it’s a key ingredient that aligns with my health goals—and I bet you’ll feel the difference too.
